Competition was tight. After lying only third after two rounds, Oxfordshire came through strongly in the third and final round to secure qualification for the final on 5 April: but could the team actually win outright? It all rested on the final game, and Oxon board 1 Andrew Willis duly produced a win to earn a proud Oxfordshire team a set of winners' medals.
